New Mlayalam Film Pappy Appacha

Apr 27th, 2010

“Pappy Appacha” is a new malayalam film directed by Mammas. It is another picture of shrewd and notorious father son duo played by Dileep and Incent. There had been many films depicting the father-son combos in Malayalam. They owned schools, bar, hospital and many other institutions. Kavya Madhavan (Anne) appears as a new teacher in the school. She is daughter of Varghese master who is engaged in social activities. She raised her voice against the dishonest deeds of Paappy (Dileep) and Appachan (Incent).

They carry on by rolling funds and when they face a real shortage, they resort to insurance fraud.

Kavya is teacher in the shcool run by the father and son. Annie had besotted Paappy ( Dileep). Both had a dispute while they were in school after Pappi played a hoax on her in school. Annie decides to contest in Panchayath election against Paappy. Things started changing from here onwards.

The movie seems to focus on Dileep and his mannerisms rather on the narrative. There are comedy scenes that one finds it very hard to digest. Dileep could have appreciated better with out untimely comedy. Kavya Madhavan played a decent role as teacher. However, this time Kavya -Dileep chemistry is not up to the mark.

All others in the cast including the villain role played by Suresh Krishna and Asokan, who plays a rich man, are ok. It is directed by Mammas and the music is composed by Vidyasagar. The movie is to attract mainly children with the comedy and Dileep’s mannerisms. But as far as adults are concerned, it may be hard to digest.

Main Cast: Dileep, Kavya Madhavan, Suresh Krishna, KPAC Lalitha, Asokan, Rajeev, Kochupreman, Majeed Edavanakad, Manikandan, Chembil Asokan, Thesni Khan, Manju Raghavan and others
